Student Testimonials

My fantastic experience learning from Vilma began even before I took formal piano lessons from her. As the piano accompanist for my parish’s children’s choir, Vilma exemplified all the traits of a brilliant musician: she played the piano passionately and gracefully with such skill and precision that the piano seemed to extend naturally from her fingertips. Impressed by her undeniable talent, my parents decided to give me the best gift I would ever receive: piano lessons at Vilma studio. I studied with Vilma for nine years after that. In that time, I learned to read piano music as naturally as I can read a book and developed enough technique to play many challenging, classical piano pieces. Vilma exposed me to a grand variety of different piano styles: classical, jazz, pop, contemporary and more. Despite my initial resistance, Vilma successfully encouraged me to move my fingers, arms, and body so that I too could begin to develop the grace which she demonstrates as a piano player. Although I learned so very much, I still felt that when I ended my lessons at Vilma Studio I did not learn half of what Vilma had to offer, her knowledge is that immense. There was not a single day that Vilma did not exemplify the utmost professionalism and dedication that all of the best teachers and business-owners should. She genuinely cares about her students and offers them the very best of herself so that they may feel the same joy she does for piano. I hold Vilma in the highest regard and recommend her to anyone interested in developing a talent for piano that they are sure to benefit from for the rest of their lives.

Alyssa Arbuiso

Alyssa and Brianna at their final annual Vilma Studio concert

I was a student at Vilma’s studio for 14 years, starting piano lessons at age 4. She has helped
me to read music on the spot, play chords, play with dynamics, and work on advanced classical pieces, including contemporary pieces. Even if you suggest composers or pieces that you want to play, she will work with you. Ms. Vilma is always patient and pushes you beyond what you think you can do. She helped me win second place in a Suffolk County piano competition and prepared me to take music exams in the National Opera Center in NYC. In addition, I played for the pit orchestra and accompanied my choir in high school. Ms. Vilma gave me music that can be used at concert halls, recitals, or even for college auditions. Because of her, I study classical piano at Syracuse University and got accepted to three colleges for music. If you are looking for someone to teach you how to read music and play with technique and expression, Vilma Studio is the place to go!

Brianna Cofield

Brianna was the 2nd place winner at the SPTF Competition Late Advanced Division (2016) for playing Prelude and Fuga in C-Major BWV870 (The Well-temp. Clavier 2)

Vilma Barsauskiene has been my piano teacher for ten years. She has taught me the beauty of music, especially of the piano, and she has shown me how learning an instrument can bring so much joy into one’s life. I love playing the piano for others and showing them all that I have learned. I have accomplished so much during these ten years thanks to Vilma, and knowing how to play the piano will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I was a student at Vilma’s studio for 7 years. Playing the piano is such a valuable skill that can help with so many things ranging from increasing your focus, coordination, memory as well as being a way to express yourself which I’ve learned firsthand after all my years with Vilma. She’s taught me so much about music and words can’t express how grateful and full of happiness I am. We played a wide range of pieces and though I felt pushed to my limits often, it was worth it when it all came together. It’s genuinely a magical experience to be able to learn from a caring and devoted teacher like Vilma and I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone interested in learning music!
